While swimming remains one of the most injury-free sports around, swimming injuries do happen, due to repetition and other factors. Treating injuries early, before they become serious, is critical for ensuring that you can continue doing the sport you love.
A study led by Israeli research and development firms Eybna and CannaSoul Analytics suggests that a combination of CBD with terpenes is three times more effective at preventing cytokine activity than corticosteroid dexamethasone, Forbes reports. So-called cytokine storms are one of the symptoms of COVID-19, causing inflammation, swelling, pain, loss of organ function, and can cause the immune system to kill the body’s own cells.
Doctors and patients alike are becoming familiar with the benefits offered for a variety of ailments through compounds contained in medical marijuana like CBD (cannabidiol) or, to a different degree, THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Cannabis contains far more compounds than just these two best-known compounds, however. One of the lesser-known compounds, CBN (cannabinol), is being studied closely because of its possible therapeutic value to patients.
Cannabinoids are the naturally occurring chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant.
